Five Centerpeices You Can Make Yourself

Whether you are planning your wedding or a garden party, these centerpieces are sure to be an eye pleaser.

The Teapot

How cute would this centerpiece be at a wedding, tea party, or little girl’s birthday party! It even makes a great prize for guests as the wooden pallet is actually a sign. You can make it pretty by painting it or burning it or you can leave it blank.

Estimated Total Cost: $20

What You Need To Make It:

Teapot (I like to look at thrift stores for these. They can be very inexpensive. I usually find them for around 3 or 4 dollars)
Fake Flowers: I got these at Joann’s. I really like flowers at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s too. Amazon has some nice choices as well (or real if you want to cut them the day of)
Unfinished Wood Tag
String
Walnut Hollow Scallop Trivet
Lace Runner (There are lots of choices on Amazon.)
Optional: Flower Foam

Wire Cutters

How To Make It:

Lay a lace runner across the middle of the table.
Place the Walnut Hollow Scallop Tivet in the center.
Place the teapot on top of the trivet.
To make the tag, paint the edges of the wooden tag. Then Paint the middle with TEA. You can create your own message as well, or table number. You can also wood burn using a Wood Burning Tool instead of painting.
String the tag around the teapot.
Hold the fake flowers and use wire cutters to cut the stems away from the bunch. Cut them long and then trim as needed to fit your vase. You can use a piece of flower foam in the pot to hold them in place. Arrange the flowers in the pot until satisfied.

The Beach Traveler

Perfect for beach themed weddings and travel themed parties, this laid back centerpiece will being the excitement of travel and the laid-back atmosphere of the beach.

What You Need To Make It:

2 Suitcase Boxes (I found a great deal on these at Dollar General) Here is a cute centerpiece one from Oriental Trading Company
A Terrarium
Seashells
Rope
Table Number Sign Mini Chalkboard Clip

How To Make It:

Stack suitcases on top of each other.
Place Terrarium on top of suitcase.
Place seashells inside the terrariu
Place sign in terrarium.
Arrange rope in loops, over terrarium, and to the other side.

The Simple Rustic Round

If you want something simple and rustic, this table centerpiece is for you.

What You Need To Make It:

Burlap Table Runner
Walnut Hollow Wood Round
Wood Table Number Holder
Tall Glass Vase (I highly recommend scouring local thrift stores for vases for a budget friendly centerpiece)
Fake Flowers (I used three different flower stems from different stores, but these flowers from Joann’s would work great too)
Table Number

Wire Cutters

How To Make It:

Place burlap on table.
Add the wood round on top.
Place the glass vase in the center of the wood round.
Cut fake flowers to length and arrange in vase.
Place the wood table number holder on the larger wood round.

The Succulent Box

This box would also be great with real succulents or herbs. Guests could just cut some basil for their meal right at their table.

What You Need To Make It:

Optional: Elephant Charm or similar

Small Wooden Box

Fresh or fake succulents (Real plants need soil, unless you just leave them in the pots.)
Hot Glue Gun or other adhesive

How To Make It:

Place burlap fabric on table.
Glue charm on box.
Place box on burlap.
Place burlap in box.
Place plants in box.

The Pretty Platter

A great choice if you want a short, unobtrusive centerpiece, this can also work in different venues if you change out the fabric for colors and materials more suitable to the occasion.

How To Make It:

Place the burlap on the table.
Place the lace runner in the center.
Place the serving board in the center of the runner and table.
Push the lace fabric into the vase.
Cut the fake flowers to length and arrange in the vase.
